For his 99th birthday, Japanese skiing legend and photographer Keizo Miura climbed and then descended the highest peak in Europe - Mount Blanc. He did this together with his oldest son Yuichiro and grandson Yuta. Keizo is the oldest person to climb Kilimanjaro which is the highest peak in Africa and it seems that Keizo was a great role model as Yuichiro became the oldest person to climb Mt Everest at age 77.

Noted for his fitness and outdoor-sport undertakings, Keizo could be seen power walking and taking himself through his daily exercise routine right up until the day he passed on in January of 2006 at the tender age of 102.

So, what can we learn from Keizo? You are never too old to keep active, in fact keeping active may well have got him passed the 100 mark in great spirits. Test your quality of life with the AlphaOne Q-Scale and see how to improve your mental spirits like Keizo.
